Andrew Gallacher

Master Goldsmith & Director · 30+ years at the bench

Andrew Gallacher has worked at the bench for over thirty years, the second generation to run the family workshop on Murray Place. He trained as a goldsmith in Edinburgh and continues to hand-make every bespoke commission himself in the workshop above the Stirling shop. Andrew specialises in solitaire, halo and trilogy engagement rings, hand-engraved wedding bands and re-modelling inherited pieces into something a customer will wear every day. He is a member of the National Association of Jewellers and a Registered Valuer, regularly carrying out insurance valuations for private clients across central Scotland.

When customers come in wanting "the perfect ring", Andrew prefers a long conversation to a quick sale — about how the piece will be worn, what the budget really is, and which compromises matter least. He is happy to talk through diamond grading, certification (GIA, IGI, HRD) and the practical differences between platinum and 18ct white gold over a twenty-year horizon.

Andrew hasn't published any articles yet — new pieces appear here as they are written.
